In spite of a neat appearance, the hull can be affected by corrosion or electrolysis. In contrast to what is often thought, starts corrosion, on most vessels, from the inside. These measurements are important when evaluating a purchase or insurance acceptance risk of your vessel. VABIMEX uses advanced factory calibrated, ultrasonic thickness equipment; mainly on steel and aluminum hulls & structures. The instrument works on the ultrasonic pulse-echo principle; measuring the remaining wall thickness on components subjected to corrosion and erosion, without removing the protective paint layers. The measurements we reflect in a report in which the thicknesses and their locations around the hull are recorded, including any findings and recommendations.
